Computational Biology has played crucial role in shaping biology in recent times. And pandemics has been a witness of its applications which transformed the research completely. Hence, it is the need of hour for the students to be familiar with bioinformatics to explore the inside world of cells. Starting with the concepts of molecular biology, the course aims to encourage students of various disciplines to understand the bioinformatics. It aims to cover introduction to databases, analysis of DNA and protein sequences, annotations, phylogeny and other areas.  

Learner Outcomes:

By the end of the course, students will be able to access various biological databases, will be able to perform BLAST, multiple sequence alignment, retrieval of sequences from databases, genes and genomes analysis, annotations, phylogenetic analysis and basics of docking.
